The Icelandic Minister for Health has decided to activate an article stipulated in the Act for Quarantine allowing the Minister to limit temporarily school activities, including teaching pupils.
Further instructions will be coordinated in accordance with the Government‘s recommendations. The Vestmannaeyjar Municipality is currently organising the School operation in accordance with the abovementioned. Therefore, on Monday 16 March 2020, the management and other staff of the Kindergardens (Kirkjugerði and Sóli), the Elementary School GRV (Barnaskóli and Hamarskóli), the Musical School and entities operating after school activities, will organise the operation of the schools for the coming days and weeks.
All the abovementioned entities will be closed on Monday. Parents of the pupils are kindly aksed to follow all informations that will be issued during the weekend and on Monday, inter alia the Municipality´s website (vestmannaeyjar.is) and the websites of the respective Schools (grv.is, soli.hjalli.is and kirkjugerdi.leikskoli.is). Furthermore, coordinated directions on all the School operation (teaching and after school activities) is currently in preparation.
